Future Man
Few characters carry their concept as boldly in their name as Future Man, a Silver Age curiosity who stepped onto the page in Marvel Super-Heroes #17 in 1968, brought to life by the artistic talents of Howard Purcell and Dick Ayers. His catalog footprint is compact — just eight appearances spread across Spider-Man Comic, Marvel Super-Heroes, and The Avengers Annual through the late 1960s and '70s — but one of those issues carries genuine key-issue status, making him a rewarding chase for the dedicated Marvel UK collector. Along the way he shares his adventures with some remarkable company: Madeline Joyce, Miss America, and none other than Captain America and Steve Rogers himself, lending his appearances a decidedly classic, heroic atmosphere that feels very much of that optimistic, boundary-pushing Silver Age spirit.
