Frank Castle Jr.
Frank Castle Jr. is the young son of Frank Castle (the Punisher) and Maria Castle, whose murder alongside the rest of the Castle family in Central Park drove Frank to become a vigilante. His loss is the emotional core of the Punisher's entire origin.
Introduced in the very first issue of The Punisher War Journal in 1988 β with art by a young Jim Lee, no less β Frank Castle Jr. is a poignant piece of Marvel's Copper Age mythology, a name that carries enormous weight in the Punisher's corner of the universe. Across nearly four decades of publication, this character has surfaced in titles like Punisher and Deadpool vs. The Punisher, sharing pages with figures as central as Frank Castle himself, Maria Castle, and Microchip. With only a handful of catalog appearances, Frank Castle Jr. is a rare presence whose significance far outstrips his page count β the kind of character whose very existence speaks volumes about the stories Marvel chose to tell around one of its darkest icons.
