Francis-7

Francis-7 is a Sandman — an elite enforcer in the dystopian future society of Logan's Run — tasked with hunting down 'Runners' who refuse to submit to mandatory death at age 30. He pursues the fugitive Logan-5 in Marvel's comic adaptation of the 1976 film.

Bronze Age Marvel brought plenty of memorable faces to the page, and Francis-7 is one of the more intriguing — debuting in Logan's Run #1 in 1977, courtesy of the formidable creative team of Gerry Conway, David Zelag Goodman, and a young George Pérez. Sharing the pages with Logan-5 and Jessica-6 (and even crossing paths with Spider-Man and Peter Parker in true Marvel fashion), Francis-7 inhabits a compact but distinctive corner of the Marvel universe. With only a handful of catalog appearances, this is a character for the dedicated Bronze Age hunter — the kind of discovery that makes digging through back-issue bins so rewarding.
