Flower
Flower is the gentle skunk from Disney's Bambi, who made an early comics appearance in Dell's Four Color #19 alongside Bambi, Thumper, and several of Snow White's dwarfs. Known for his sweet temperament and unlikely friendship with the young deer prince.
Born in the Golden Age alongside some of the most beloved figures in all of comics, Flower made their debut in Four Color #19 in 1943, brought to life by creator Carl Buettner. Sharing pages with iconic company like Bambi, Thumper, and even a few of Snow White's famous dwarfs β Dopey, Happy, and Sleepy β this character has roots in a wonderfully rich corner of mid-century comics history. What's remarkable is the sheer span of it all: from 1943 all the way to 2011, Flower's presence threads through nearly seven decades of publication, popping up across titles as eclectic as Disneyland, Cracked, and Comic Book Comics under Evil Twin Comics. A modest appearance count only adds to the charm β sometimes the rarest blooms are the ones worth seeking out.
