Who is Fantasma?

Fantasma is the Portuguese edition of The Phantom, the legendary costumed crime-fighter known as the Ghost Who Walks. Descended from a long line of heroes based in the African jungle, he fights pirates and criminals while maintaining the illusion of immortality passed from father to son.

Born in the Bronze Age pages of Mundo de Aventuras #1 in 1973, Fantasma is a striking presence in the RGE catalog — a character shaped by the legendary hands of Lee Falk and Sy Barry, the creative duo whose work defined adventure comics for generations. Over a remarkable 24-year run stretching to 1997, Fantasma found a home across multiple series including Fantasma and Colecção Heróis Inesquecíveis, keeping extraordinary company along the way — none less than the jungle icon Tarzan himself. For collectors who love the rich tradition of adventure comics as published through South American imprints, this is a character whose longevity alone tells you there was something genuinely compelling here worth returning to.
