Elton T. Morrow
Geologist Elton T. Morrow gained a diamond-hard body after fragments of an enormous extraterrestrial blue diamond embedded themselves in his skin during an Antarctic expedition. The accident rendered him virtually indestructible, and he went on to serve as the Golden Age hero Blue Diamond.
Born in the pages of Daring Mystery Comics #7 in 1941, Elton T. Morrow is a genuine Marvel Golden Age original, conjured by creator Ben Thompson during the fertile, anything-goes dawn of superhero comics. With just 12 catalog appearances spanning an impressive arc from 1941 all the way to 2012, he's a rare figure — scarce enough to feel like a discovery, yet durable enough to have kept remarkable company, sharing adventures with the likes of Captain America, Bucky, Citizen V, and Blue Diamond across titles including Avengers / Invaders and Marvel Premiere. One of his appearances carries key-issue status, making him a genuine prize for Golden Age hunters who love unearthing the Marvel Universe's deepest roots.
