Dr. Stones

A creature of the Modern Age, Dr. Stones made their debut in 2008 courtesy of creator John Maybury's indie gem Space Babe 113, and has kept some wonderfully offbeat company ever since — sharing panels with the likes of Space Babe 113 herself, Star, Rince Cycle, and the intriguingly titled Media Director and Yeoman. With a handful of appearances concentrated across Maybury's self-published universe, Dr. Stones is the kind of character that rewards the dedicated digger: a small-press discovery with personality to spare, embedded in a quirky corner of comics history that mainstream shelves never quite reached.
