Doolittle

Doolittle stepped onto the page in 1948, a Golden Age creation from the Pines stable brought to life by Charles Strong and Ralph Mayo in the pages of Thrilling Comics. What's remarkable is the sheer span this character touches — from a late Golden Age debut all the way through to 1991, a journey of over four decades that few characters from that era can claim. Along the way, Doolittle kept colorful company indeed, sharing adventures with the likes of Sky Girl, Ginger Maguire, and the wonderfully named Terrible Tuzzlewits and Clarabelle Bettlepatch. A presence in Good Girl Art Quarterly as well, Doolittle is a charming footnote for collectors who love digging into the offbeat corners of mid-century comics history.
