Dixie

Dixie is Yogi Bear's cheerful girlfriend from Jellystone Park, a recurring character in the Hanna-Barbera animated universe. She made her comics debut alongside Yogi, Boo Boo, and other cartoon favorites when Hanna-Barbera properties transitioned to the printed page.

Dixie made her comics debut in 1960's Four Color #1141, brought to life by artist Harvey Eisenberg right at the dawn of the Silver Age — part of the cheerful wave of Hanna-Barbera animated favorites making the leap to the printed page. Over the course of three decades, she popped up across beloved titles like Laff-A-Lympics, Hanna-Barbera Parade, and Hanna-Barbera Giant Size, sharing panels with an all-star roster of cartoon icons including Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Boo Boo Bear, and Quick Draw McGraw. With 18 catalog appearances spanning all the way to 1992 — including one collector-recognized key issue — Dixie is a charming piece of that golden era when Saturday-morning magic and Marvel's presses came together in wonderfully fun four-color form.
