Who is Cip?

Cip is the Italian name for Chip, one half of the mischievous chipmunk duo Chip 'n' Dale. Alongside his partner Ciop (Dale), he appears in the Italian Disney comics magazine Topolino, getting into scrapes with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck's nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

Stepping out of the pages of Mondadori's beloved Topolino in 1956, Cip is a charming piece of Italian Golden Age comics history, brought to life by the talented duo of Guido Martina and Giovan Battista Carpi. This compact catalog presence β€” six appearances across a run stretching into the mid-1960s β€” places Cip squarely in the warm, whimsical world of Topolino, sharing adventures alongside Ciop, Topolino, and the irrepressible trio of Qui, Quo, and Qua. A modest but genuine slice of mid-century Italian comics magic, Cip is a rewarding find for collectors with a soft spot for the era when Disney-flavored storytelling flourished under the distinctive hand of some of Italy's finest comic craftsmen.
