Captain Black
Captain Black is a villain from the Gerry Anderson 'Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons' universe, appearing in the British comics adaptations. Originally a Spectrum agent, he became the Mysterons' primary human agent on Earth after being captured and controlled by the Martian intelligence.
A creature of the Silver Age British comics scene, Captain Black made his debut in TV21 #178 in 1968, brought to life by Jim Watson for what would become a two-decade publishing run across titles like TV21, Countdown, and Action 21. He keeps genuinely distinguished company β sharing pages with the likes of Captain Scarlet, Colonel White, and the Tracy brothers β placing him firmly in that beloved era of UK comics tied to the spectacular Anderson universe. With seven catalog appearances spanning all the way to 1989, Captain Black is a compact but enduring figure, the kind of character that rewards the dedicated collector willing to dig into the rich, underappreciated world of British Silver Age comics.
