Black Obsidian

Fresh out of 2024, Black Obsidian is one of Marvel's newest additions to the modern landscape, debuting in the landmark Giant-Size Spider-Man #1 courtesy of writer Cody Ziglar and artist Iban Coello. With only a handful of appearances so far, this is a character right at the beginning of their story — already moving through the same high-energy world as Miles Morales, Spider-Man, and Misty Knight across the pages of Miles Morales: Spider-Man. Ground-floor discoveries like this are what make collecting so exciting, and Black Obsidian is exactly the kind of fresh face worth watching as Marvel's modern era continues to unfold.
