Big Josh
Big Josh was a lumberjack-themed professional wrestler in the World Championship Wrestling promotion whose real-world ring persona was adapted into Marvel's early-1990s WCW comics series, placing him alongside fellow WCW stars like Sting and Arn Anderson.
Stepping out of the early '90s wrestling world and straight onto the comics page, Big Josh made his four-color debut in 1992's WCW World Championship Wrestling #2, brought to life by Mike Lackey and Ron Wilson for Marvel Comics. Part of that fascinating Copper/Modern Age moment when professional wrestling and superhero publishing collided, he carved out a niche across a handful of WCW titles — including the Annual 1993 — sharing panels with larger-than-life figures like Sting, Arn Anderson, and Rick Steiner. It's a short but genuinely distinctive run, the kind of rare, era-specific comics curiosity that makes a collection feel alive with personality.
