Bennett Brant
Bennett Brant is the brother of Daily Bugle secretary Betty Brant, whose gambling debts entangled him with criminals and drew Spider-Man into a dangerous confrontation involving Doctor Octopus in one of the series' earliest storylines.
Stepping out of the earliest chapters of Marvel's Silver Age, Bennett Brant made his mark in the legendary Amazing Spider-Man #11 back in 1964, courtesy of the incomparable trio of Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby. His story is woven into the very fabric of Spider-Man's world, sharing those consequential early pages with Peter Parker, Betty Brant, and the villainous Doctor Octopus himself — as formative a cast as Marvel has ever assembled. Though his appearances are relatively few, they carry genuine weight; any character embedded in those foundational Amazing Spider-Man issues occupies hallowed ground in the collector's canon. For fans who love tracing the deep roots of Spidey's history, Bennett Brant is one of those quietly significant figures worth seeking out.
