Ben Reilly
Ben Reilly is a clone of Peter Parker created by the Jackal, who believed himself to be the original Spider-Man for years. He adopted the identity of the Scarlet Spider before later taking on the Spider-Man mantle himself.
Ben Reilly is one of Marvel's most compelling figures from the Copper/Modern Age — a character whose very name carries weight among fans who lived through the era's most ambitious Spider-Man storytelling. Debuting in the French Panini edition Spider-Man Hors Série #2 in 1996, courtesy of a creative team that includes Todd DeZago, J. M. DeMatteis, Mark Bagley, and Robert E. Brown, he's been a presence in the catalog across nearly three decades, turning up in titles as varied as Spider-Man, Dark Web, and Daredevil. He keeps remarkable company — sharing pages with Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson-Parker, J. Jonah Jameson, and Robbie Robertson, the very heart of the Marvel universe. Nearly 30 years of appearances tell you everything: Ben Reilly is no footnote, but a character whose place in comics history only deepens with time.
