Barney McAllister
A creature of the early Bronze Age independent comics scene, Barney McAllister made his debut in Eclipse Monthly #2 in 1983, brought to life by the legendary Doug Wildey — a creator whose eye for gritty, character-driven storytelling left a real mark on the era. Barney turned up most frequently in The Masked Man, one of Eclipse Comics' distinctive offerings from a publisher that prided itself on pushing boundaries outside the mainstream. Over his run through the late '80s, he kept lively company with the likes of Cap'n Quick, Dick Carstairs, and the titular Masked Man himself. With 18 appearances across Eclipse's adventurous catalog, Barney McAllister is a rewarding find for collectors with a taste for the bold, creator-driven spirit that made independent comics of this period so special.
