Asterix
Asterix is a pint-sized but indomitable Gaulish warrior living in a small village that stubbornly resists Roman occupation around 50 BC. His superhuman strength comes from a magic potion brewed by the druid Getafix, which he shares with his best friend Obelix and their dog Dogmatix.
Few comic characters have earned a place in readers' hearts quite like Asterix, whose catalog journey begins with a 1972 debut in the Norwegian publication Tempo β a Bronze Age entry point into adventures shared with the likes of Obelix and Idefix. Published across some thirteen years through Hjemmet / Egmont and appearing in titles like Tempo and Tegneseriebokklubben, this is a character whose presence on the page always signals something special. Ten appearances may be a modest count, but each one is a piece of a rich publishing history worth tracking down for any serious collector of Scandinavian comic editions.
