Who is Arnold Peck?
Arnold Peck stepped onto the underground comix scene in 1975, born from the pen of Spain in the pages of Arcade the Comics Revue — one of the most creatively charged anthologies the Bronze Age counterculture ever produced. Sharing ink with the likes of Robert Crumb, Art Spiegelman, and DiDi Glitz, Arnold ran in genuinely rarefied company, the kind of underground royalty that made Arcade a landmark of the Print Mint era. His appearances across Flamed-out Funnies and Rip Off Comix trace a character woven into the fabric of the alternative press movement at its most vital. Nine catalog appearances may be a modest count, but in underground comix, quality of company counts for everything — and Arnold Peck kept some of the best.
