Who is Apollo?

Apollo is a Superman-analogue and member of the Authority whose powers are derived from solar energy, making him one of the most powerful beings on Earth. He is also notable for his relationship with teammate Midnighter.

A solar-powered titan of the Modern Age, Apollo blazed onto the scene in 2000 courtesy of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's landmark run on The Authority, and has been a compelling presence in DC's universe ever since. Sharing the page with heavy hitters like Midnighter, Jack Hawksmoor, Swift, and The Engineer, he's clearly embedded in some of the most charged, boundary-pushing superhero storytelling of the past quarter century. His appearances stretch across The Authority, The Authority: More Kev, and even Justice League of America, signaling a character whose reach extends well beyond any single corner of the DC cosmos. If you're drawn to bold, modern superhero comics that pushed the genre forward at the turn of the millennium, Apollo is absolutely worth tracking down.
