Who is Angelina Brancale?

Angelina Brancale is the true identity of Stunner, a Spider-Man foe who uses advanced virtual-reality technology to project an incredibly powerful superhumanly strong female avatar, while her actual body remains connected to a VR pod — driven largely by her fierce devotion to Doctor Octopus.

Emerging from the mid-to-late 1990s Spider-Man universe, Angelina Brancale made her debut in Spider-Man #4 (1997) under the creative hands of J. M. DeMatteis, Mark Bagley, and Reinhard Schweizer — a Panini Deutschland production that brought her into a world populated by some of Marvel's most compelling figures. Her handful of appearances across Spider-Man Special, Der sensationelle Spider-Man, and Spider-Man place her in vivid company: Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson-Parker, Ben Reilly, and Stunner all share her pages, making for a richly tangled corner of the Spider-Man mythos. She may be a rarer find in the catalog with only five recorded appearances, but that scarcity is precisely what makes her intriguing to the dedicated collector hunting the edges of the web-slinger's world.
