Who is Amon Sur?

Amon Sur is the son of Abin Sur, the Green Lantern whose death led to Hal Jordan receiving his power ring. Resentful of his father's legacy and the ring he felt was his birthright, Amon became a villain operating in opposition to the Green Lantern Corps.

Amon Sur burst onto the DC scene in 2003, debuting in Green Arrow #24 courtesy of creators Ben Raab and Charlie Adlard, and immediately planting himself in the thick of the Modern Age's most compelling corner of the DC Universe. With just five catalog appearances spread across Green Lantern and Green Arrow, he's a compact but pointed presence — the kind of character whose impact outweighs his page count. He shares his adventures with heavyweights like Kyle Rayner, Oliver Queen, and Dinah Lance, placing him squarely in the orbit of emerald-themed heroics at their most charged. Brief runs can leave lasting impressions, and for fans who love the interconnected world where arrows and power rings collide, Amon Sur is absolutely worth seeking out.
