Al the Alien
Al the Alien is a minor extraterrestrial character inhabiting the eccentric roadside world of Marvel's U.S. 1, a series centered on trucker U.S. Archer. He debuted in issue #5 as part of the comic's offbeat cast of quirky supporting characters.
A quirky corner of the Marvel Bronze Age belongs to Al the Alien, who made his debut in the pages of U.S. 1 #5 in 1983, courtesy of creators Al Milgrom and Frank Springer. That series was one of Marvel's more delightfully offbeat offerings of the era, and Al fits right into its eccentric roadside universe alongside the likes of U.S. Archer, Taryn O'Connell, and Retread. With only six appearances to his name, he's a genuine rarity β the kind of deep-cut character that makes long-box diving such a rewarding adventure for collectors with a taste for the wonderfully weird fringes of the Bronze Age.
