Who Is Homelander?

Homelander is the main villain of The Boys, a comic series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson published by DC/Wildstorm and later Dynamite Entertainment. He's the leader of the Seven, a team of corporate-owned, deeply corrupt superheroes — essentially a dark parody of Superman. Beneath his all-American, boy-scout exterior lies a narcissistic, dangerously unstable man with virtually unlimited power: super strength, flight, heat vision, and near-invulnerability. The Boys follows a CIA-backed team assembled specifically to keep superheroes like Homelander in check, and his confrontations with Billy Butcher drive much of the series' tension. He became even more widely known through the Amazon Prime TV adaptation, where he is portrayed by Antony Starr.
