Who Is Blackhawk?

Blackhawk is a skilled pilot and war hero who debuted in Military Comics #1 (1941), published by Quality Comics. Driven by a personal vendetta against the Axis forces that devastated his homeland, he organized and leads the Blackhawks — an elite, international squadron of aviators operating from a secret island base. Though he has no superpowers, Blackhawk is an ace combat pilot, sharpshooter, hand-to-hand fighter, and brilliant tactician. The character later passed to DC Comics, where he continued to appear in adventures through the Silver Age and beyond, with multiple relaunches over the decades.
