Startling Comics #42

This anthology issue features multiple stories including "Portable Landing Field" by William B. McClellan, in which Boy Scout Jerry Miller and his friends use chicken wire and materials to create a portable landing field to help rescue a fellow scout trapped in quicksand. The issue also contains a Pyroman story about Dick Martin, a man with stored electrical energy in his body who uses his powers as "the human dynamo" to fight crime with fiery bolts more powerful than lightning. Additionally, there is a Troubleshooter story starring detective Galahad Grant investigating a case involving a zircon emerald, a smuggling ring, and a mysterious actress.
