This anthology issue contains two stories. "Ohhhh, Brother!" tells of the Bruno family mansion and its two brothers, Claude and Gordon, where Claude had turned the family fortunes into counterfeit money while Gordon squandered away the fortune; a mysterious old hag (Pal of Gloom) narrates how she gathered the "wretches" to harvest human souls, and Buck Johnnie Grotz and the Cardozo mob are wiped out in a single supernatural stroke. The second story features a woman named Vera Grayson who is not superstitious, though she checks into a hotel room (1313) and becomes uneasy; when she hears mysterious laughter and screaming, she discovers the room is empty, and investigators debate whether her jumping from the window was suicide or murder, concluding it was likely caused by the ghost of a previous guest.
