Becky Cloonan, Matt Horak, and Frank Martin's 2017 run on The Punisher delivers a cover by Declan Shalvey that is as stark and unsettling as the character himself — a top-down winter scene showing Frank Castle crawling wounded through the snow, leaving a vivid crimson trail behind him, while a hooded figure looms in the foreground and a noose hangs from a tree nearby. The frigid, bare-branched woodland setting amplifies the sense of isolation and danger closing in from every direction. It's a tense, beautifully composed image that earns every bit of that Parental Advisory warning.
