Dave McKean's cover for this 25th Anniversary Edition is hauntingly atmospheric — a blood-red moon hangs over the looming silhouette of Arkham Asylum, wreathed in ghostly teal smoke and swirling tendrils of green, while occult diagrams and riveted metal panels fade into the darkness below. Grant Morrison and McKean's *A Serious House on Serious Earth* earned its reputation as one of the most psychologically intense Batman stories ever told, and this 2015 edition presents it in handsome form. If you've never spent time within these walls, or simply want to revisit them, this is a very fine place to start.
