Of these, however, if he wrote so many things in their praise, and they were true, he ought to have blushed ; but if they were false and fictitious, he ought by concealing them to have avoided appearing to employ effemi- nate blandishments and illiberal flattery. What Paul, however, wntes to them about his auditors is as follows: “Be not deceived, neither forn- cators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
