# WEIRD TALES

This issue features seven fiction pieces alongside poetry. "The Horror at Red Hook" by H.P. Lovecraft concerns cults of darkness rooted in blasphemies. Robert E. Howard's "The Lost Race" describes cave-dwelling Picts, the mythical pre-Gaelic inhabitants of Britain. "The Major's Menagerie" by Victor Rousseau is the fifth installment in a series about Dr. Ivan Brodsky, "The Surgeon of Souls." "Leonora" by Everil Worrell adapts the old German legend, while Frank Owen's "The Dream Peddler" features an old man who makes a young friend's dreams come true. George C. Wallis and B. Wallis contribute Part 3 of "The Star Shell," a four-part serial about a voyage to Jupiter with adventures in the Forest of the Great Red Weed. William A.P. White offers "Ye Goode Olde Ghoste Storie," and a reprint of Wilkie Collins' "The Dream Woman" concludes the fiction. Poetry includes verses by William James Price, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and others. The issue begins John Mart's "Drome," a mystery involving Mt. Rainier, a 1858 expedition, and an old journal.
