# Broadway Brevities, September 1919
This issue of the theatrical trade publication contains primarily advertisements and editorial commentary rather than fiction. The front matter includes business advertisements for furs, theatrical costumes, an aviation service ("Aero Limited"—America's first aerial passenger route between New York and Atlantic City), and various New York restaurants and establishments.
The publication's editorial section contains brief, satirical commentary on Broadway theatrical life and local personages, authored by editor Stephen G. Clow. Notable criticism includes attacks on Don Marquis's "archy" cockroach column and F.P.A.'s "last line" device in the Tribune. There is a single short piece of light verse titled "The Hole in the Stocking" by "Peeping Tom," concerning a woman anxious about her stockings before meeting her lover. A portrait of playwright Samuel Shipman by artist Fornaro appears in the issue.
