# White Lightning

This Beadle and Adams serial by T. C. Harbaugh follows the theft of a prized white horse from a Texas ranch. Captain Bullet and his partner Texas approach the Bodine ranch intending to steal White Lightning, the celebrated horse they covet. When the owner is absent, they seize the animal despite the protests of Bodine's daughter Bessie. She pursues them on a faster horse, shooting Texas from his saddle during the chase. As Captain Bullet flees toward the hills with his prize, a massive buffalo herd stampedes across the plain, driven by Comanche hunters firing rifles. Bessie abandons her pursuit to escape the advancing herd herself, her horse Alamo straining to outrun the thundering animals. The narrative combines frontier action with horse-theft drama and Indian conflict typical of the period's pulp adventure fiction.
