This October 21, 1922 issue of Argosy-Allstory contains five serialized stories in progress: Ray Cummings's science-fiction tale "The Fire People" (part one), W.A. Fraser's "Caste" (part two), Rufus F. King's "Dirty Weather" (part three), John Schoolcraft's "The Bird of Passage" (part four), and Hulbert Footner's "A New Girl in Town" (part five). The issue also features novelettes and short stories including H. Bedford-Jones's "Down the Coast of Barbary," Richard Howells Watkins's "Royce Assists," and works by M.M. Solomon, Earl C. McCain, and Leslie Ramon. A new serialized thriller titled "The Dance of Death" by Fred Jackson—set in New York's night life, spanning midnight to dawn—is advertised to begin the following week.
