# Museum Catalog Entry

This November 12, 1927 issue of Argosy-Allstory Weekly features four serialized stories and several complete shorter works. The lead serial, "Somewhere in Nevada" by C. C. Waddell (Part One of three), follows Mickey Rado and his partner Slim arriving at the newly established mining camp of Quoonah, Nevada, after a gold strike draws fifteen thousand seekers to the remote desert location. The narrative depicts the chaotic, primitive conditions of the boom town—tents being replaced by hastily constructed shacks, constant rumors of claims and strikes, and the feverish activity of fortune hunters, while emphasizing the lack of basic infrastructure including water and proper shelter. The issue also continues multi-part serials "Queen of Clubs" by Hulbert Footner (Part Two), "The Return of George Washington" by George F. Worts (Part Five), and "Conrad the Saxon" by Joseph Ivers Lawrence (Part Three), plus the complete novelette "Kerry of the Air Mail" by Joe Weil, and four short stories.
