Arthur Hunt Chute's "The Roaring Forties" continues in Part One of a six-part story; "A Crown for Sale" (from the Memoirs of the Queen of Florania) appears in Part Two of a five-part story; David Fox's "The Handwriting on the Wall" is Part Four of a six-part serial; Theodore Goodridge Roberts's "Floods" continues as Part Three of a four-part story; and Laurie York Erskine's "The Confidence Man" concludes in Part Six of a six-part serial.

The issue includes novelettes and short stories by Leslie Ramon, Ruth Robinson Blodgett, Wilson Collison, Herman Howard Matteson, and others, alongside verse contributions. A forthcoming serial by J. U. Giesy and Junius B. Smith titled "A Stranger in Town"—about a man hit and jailed, then demanding a lawyer—is advertised as beginning the following week.
