Treasure Chest Advance Edition

A short-lived, single-issue prestige comic from 1959–1960, Treasure Chest Advance Edition was published by George A. Pflaum as a special preview for the long-running Catholic educational series Treasure Chest. Written by Frank Moss (under the pseudonym Max Pine) and illustrated by Fran Matera, this oversized, full-color issue offered a standalone adventure intended to showcase the series' wholesome, action-oriented storytelling. Though it never continued beyond this one installment, it remains a curious footnote in the history of American religious comics.
