Tom Poes

In the mid-1970s, Amsterdam Boek and later Oberon brought the beloved Dutch comic strip Tom Poes to a new format, collecting the classic adventures of the clever little cat and his friend, the absent-minded magician Heer Bommel, into a series of hardcover albums. These editions preserved the whimsical, satirical tone of creator Marten Toonder's original work, which had been running in newspapers for decades. Though the series produced no new issues, it was a key archival effort, making these foundational, gently philosophical stories accessible to a new generation of readers.
