Calling All Boys

Calling All Boys, published by Calling All Boys, Inc. from 1946 onward, was a photo-comic magazine aimed at young readers, blending illustrated storytelling with real-world photography. Writer Charles Spain Verral and artist Richard Staples Dodge were key contributors, alongside unnamed photographers who brought a distinctive visual style to the series. Though it produced no traditional comic issues, its hybrid approach marked an early effort to bridge comic art and photojournalism for a teenage audience.
