Almost American Girl

A graphic memoir from HarperCollins by cartoonist Robin Ha, Almost American Girl (2020–present) chronicles the author’s teenage experience of being abruptly uprooted from Seoul, South Korea, and relocated to Alabama. The single-issue work explores the challenges of cultural displacement, language barriers, and forging a new identity as a Korean American immigrant.
