Spirit #212 (1944)

The Spirit investigates the mysterious death of Celie, a modest flower girl in Central City, whose body was found with the distinctive scent of geraniums. The Spirit encounters a criminal named Cape who has been using geranium vapor as a weapon and threatens to kill the Spirit if he doesn't leave town. After a confrontation involving deadly geranium gas that nearly claims both their lives, the Spirit pursues Cape through the city. The issue also includes a backup story titled "Intellectual Amos" by André LeBlanc, featuring a small character learning about traffic safety and obeying traffic lights.
