Gabriel Walta's cover art sets an immediately unsettling tone — a man in stark close-up, mouth agape in a scream and wide eyes filled with pure dread, rendered in a muted, painterly palette that makes the fear feel all the more raw. TKO Studios' 2021 anthology offering pairs writer Erick C. Freitas and letterer Steve Wands on "Killiamsburg," promising the kind of creeping, character-driven horror the title advertises. If that cover face is any indication, whatever lurks inside this story isn't giving its characters — or readers — an easy way out.
