Pioneer Pete and the gang jump through the History Gate to 1540, hoping Mike L. Angelo can redesign Pioneerland—but first, they dodge Roman Swiss Guards by snagging a stash of Pioneer Take-Out chicken to keep peace. With a taste for fast food and a flair for art, Angelo sketches a bold new look that’s ready to refresh the whole town.

When the gang arrives at the pot at the end of the rainbow, they meet the self-proclaimed Wizard of Woz—only to find his magic is hilariously unreliable. After Pioneer Pete warns him to stop unless he’s sure, the wizard accidentally turns the grand ballroom into a chaotic sea of oversized balls, trapping everyone in a sticky mess.

Major Blunder boasts about his fitness while pedaling his fancy exercycle, but Pioneer Chicken has other plans. When Blunder takes off on what he thinks is his machine, he’s soon riding a regular bicycle straight toward the lake—right off the dock.
