The concluding chapter of this 2019 IDW miniseries delivers a cover that earns every bit of its infernal title — a cloaked, armored Shredder stands alone on jagged rock, his cape whipping dramatically as an enormous, glowing serpent looms over him in a hellscape of fire and crackling energy. Mateus Santolouco, who handles every creative role on this series, brings genuine grandeur to the image, the colossal creature's scale making even the fearsome Shredder look almost small against the burning abyss. It's a fittingly intense visual send-off for a series that has taken one of TMNT's most formidable figures somewhere truly unexpected.
