Static: Shadows of Dakota #6

Static finds himself surrounded by a pile of shattered monitors in a graffiti-tagged alleyway, while a massive, looming shadow figure with outstretched arms dominates the wall behind him — a cover image that perfectly sells the tension of "Battle of Wills." Writer-artist Nikolas Draper-Ivey (joined by co-writer Vita Ayala) brings a striking visual contrast between the young hero's determined stance and the overwhelming darkness closing in around him. Part of DC's Milestone 30th anniversary celebration, this sixth issue looks like a genuinely compelling chapter in Static's return to Dakota.
