Seconde partie de carrière #[nn]
From Futuropolis comes this sharp French bande dessinée by Jean-Philippe Peyraud and Philippe Perié, whose tagline cheekily warns: "La retraite de sa mère, elle ne l'avait pas calculée…" The bold red cover sets the tone perfectly, presenting a lineup that ranges from a smooth TV presenter with a microphone, to a cool younger woman in a military jacket casually holding a pistol, to a silver-haired elderly woman leaning on a cane — all flanked by a menacing silhouetted figure armed and lurking in the shadows. It's a wonderfully deadpan collision of generations and genres that promises something both funny and unexpectedly dangerous.
