The issue contains two main stories. "Breathless Romance" follows Jeanie, who meets a charming man named Howie in Paris and is pursued by him despite her initial interest in another suitor named Arturo; she eventually discovers Howie has been following her across Europe through a tourist agency. The second story features a doctor working in Africa who treats a cholera epidemic among jungle people; when Margaret Trent, a woman from his past, arrives at his remote station claiming romantic motives, he suspects her true intention is to convince him to leave his vital medical work.
