Profession du père #[nn]
Adapted from Sorj Chalandon's novel by Sébastien Gnaedig, this Futuropolis graphic novel carries an immediately arresting atmosphere — its cover rendered in moody grays and shadows, where a small, solitary figure in red stands at the center of a rain-slicked street, flanked by two looming, hat-wearing men whose distorted faces press in from either side. The composition alone conveys a world of unease and psychological pressure, with the color red drawing the eye to that lone, vulnerable presence caught between imposing forces. For readers drawn to literary bande dessinée with a charged, noir sensibility, this 2018 volume is a compelling place to start.
