This volume kicks off Vertical's English-language release of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's manga retelling of the classic 1979 anime. It covers the early stages of the Universal Century conflict, following young Amuro Ray as he becomes the pilot of the prototype RX-78-2 Gundam and joins the crew of the White Base. This edition includes newly translated material and expanded story elements not present in the original TV series.
