Les Femmes en Blanc #29

The beloved Franco-Belgian medical comedy series by Bercovici & Cauvin returns with its 29th volume, subtitled Au Diable la Varice — loosely, "To Hell with Varicose Veins!" The cover sets the tone perfectly: a cheerful blonde nurse triumphantly yanks what appears to be a long, winding vein while a wide-eyed, grimacing patient writhes dramatically on a wheeled examination table, his feet bare and his expression absolutely horrified. It's the kind of gleefully absurd hospital humor that has made Les Femmes en Blanc a staple of French-language comics, and this 2007 Dupuis edition looks like another delightfully irreverent entry in the series.
