Jungle Comics #29

This anthology issue contains multiple jungle adventure stories. One story involves a battle over the kingdom of Kaanga, with warriors fighting to take control of a palace and gates while overthrowing a rival king who had plotted to place another on the throne and throw him into a crocodile pit. "The Jungle Boy" by Roy L. Smith features Wambi speaking to his animal friends about a hyena that has been killing the horn and hoof tribe; an elder gorilla warns Wambi to find the hyena's head-high and tender body by following a river downstream, noting that the gorilla is actually very shy despite its fearsome appearance and powerful chest. Another story presents a naturalistic discussion of gorilla behavior, explaining that adult male gorillas stand six feet tall with great power, and that while they can inflict terrible vengeance on enemies like leopards, capturing a living gorilla is rare and usually accidental.
